Quick update...

Welcome back Liz from your trip to Japan. Hope you took lots of pictures for sharing.

If anyone is going to hula this week, there will be sign ups for next Saturday. If you don't mind, can someone sign me up for set up. I don't mind getting there early and doing that.

I believe the makua's who competed we are asked to bring our purple dresses in addition to a pretty muumuu for dancing other songs. There is an expectation that we will perform Kipu Kai.

Anything else going on out there? I'm off to D.C. this morning and will not be back until Thursday night. I wish you all a wonderful week!

online access to latest halau folder....

ok, so the only quick-fix way i could figure out how to get the latest halau folder online is by creating another blog site at Yahoo!. like this blog, you don't need a yahoo email address to access it, but you do have to do a little "registration".

i'm not exactly sure about the exact steps, but you should be able to get access by doing one of the following:
1. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hulamakua/ and follow any prompts, or
2. Email to hulamakua-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and I think that will send me an email to add you as a member, or
3. Ask help from someone who's computer savvy, i.e., a teenager ;)

now that the folder is somewhere on the web, maybe someone can figure out how to add it to this site or another site that's more easily accessible.

aloha!

Results are in...

... If you can attend hula Wednesday night, 11/7, Aunty and Uncle will share the results from Saturday's performance. If the majority of us are there, they will.

I will stop by, but unfortunately, I will not get there before 7:30 p.m. I hope sooner, but rather doubt it. I totally forgot I had another meeting I need to be at.

See you tomorrow.

Aloha,
Ricki

Don't forget...

... no class Monday night!

Look forward to seeing everyone either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Don't forget for those Makua who attend class on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and or Thursday, if you hear anything in class on any of those days, please be sure to post on this site.

Its important that this be our main communication tool to each other.

Yahoo...We did it...

...Well we danced... we saw... we had fun... not sure yet how we did, but we'll know on Wednesday, November 7. Thank you all for making this a very memorable weekend.

Thanks especially to Carol, Laura and Cyri... wow you all are awesome! Thank you for all your assistance and support. You were the best "peeps".

Thanks also to Lilly for another amazing job with doing our makeup which made us all feel especially beautiful.

For anyone who knows Jojo, Aunty Priscilla's brother, he did a terrific job on our hair. Is there any way we can hire him again for the Christmas show??? Smile.

Thank you to Jeri for the fabulous handmade leis. Thanks for thinking of us and making us feel important and part of the competition team.

Overall, a great weekend! Thank you to all who made this happen.

Me kealoha pumehana... with all my love!

one last rehearsal!!!

- see you all tonight at 8pm! i will try to get there just a little earlier to open up so no one is waiting outside.

- rehearsal on tuesday night with uncle felt really good. (we missed you ronell, of course)! let's do that again and just go over the dance repeatedly back-to-back. no more comments or corrections... unless it's a fundamental error, then by all means, someone say something. as far as the "little" things we'll just start shouting them out as we're dancing. i think we get more done that way. (good note for next season) we all know the dance well enough that we can multi-task like that :)

ALOHA!
